My son is a vegetarian so I try to make food with some kind of protein in it.
Ukrainian Pyrih with Cabbage Filling
Tender, light dough with a delicious filling.
Greek - Milk Pita (Galatopita)
Easy to make and not too sweet with a thin layer of buttered and cinnamon sugared layers of filo dough on the bottom. A soft egg and sugar topping is added to protect the custard as it bakes.

Kutya, a cold porridge, is traditionally served at Ukrainian Christmas Eve dinner.

A light yeast raised batter bakes atop of a delicious brown sugar, honey, nut, and sliced apple base.
Rohalyky ("little horns")
Rich little cookies filled with nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and cocoa. Usually made with yeast but this recipe is made with cream cheese and butter.

A delicious light and tender dough with a delightful filling of Kasha, mushrooms, and raisins.

Poppy Seed Filled Crescents
This recipe is not as rich as the other recipe here for poppy seed Filled Crescents (Ukrains'ki Rohalyky). This recipe has less butter and no sour cream and no eggs in the dough.
Greek Baklava
Not too sweet with a hint of lemon and a touch of orange flower water. Layers of flaky phyllo dough with juicy honey syrup and crunchy walnuts and/or almonds or pistachios.

Everyone loves these pyrizhky they are light and tender and the best you have ever tasted if I say so myself.

Tender and light with swirls of chocolate, If you want more chocolate just increase the butter spread on the dough and increase cocoa/sugar filling.
